(parathyroid adenoma)
- 1995: start of 1st worldwide Protocol of Treatment with radiofrequency ablation with cool-tip
electrodes for hepatocellular carcinomas and colorectal hepatic metastases, in collaboration with the
Research Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (1995)
- 2002: start of Protocol of percutaneous treatment of liver malignancies with the new modality of real-time
ultrasound/CT image fusion (virtual navigation)
- 2009: start of Protocol of percutaneous US-guided thermal ablation of hepatic and renal malignancies with
high-power microwaves
- 2018: 1st clinical use worldwide of a novel independent software platform for volumetric assessment of
ablation completeness (Ablation-fitTM)
- 2019: 1st clinical experience worldwide of a platform of Augmented Reality (Endosight – R.A.W.) for the
percutaneous guidance of thermal ablative treatments of liver malignancies
